  • NOTEBY J. Longino, NOTEDATE 14-May-08: Stenamma; abundant foragers on rock face near stream. Many bringing food items back, all small arthropods. Can't tell if scavenging or predation. Accreted organic soil behind root in rock crevice. In chambers behind root were abundant workers and males, but no brood or queen. Presumably deeper in crevice. Large midden beneath nest, with abundant arthropod remains. This species very abundant all around stream edges, including rock faces up to 15m from stream. Recruits to baits. Middens with may beetle elytra, elytra up to 2cm long.
