  • Collection notes:
  • Trail above lime-kiln trail, from Shoreline trail up hillslope, 8pm-10pm, dusk to after dark, collecting ants on trail. There was a heavy rain the day before; many ants had reproductive flights. Queens of parasitic Lasius abundant, running rapidly on trail. I found one aggregation of 16 dealate queens of the Lasius humilis-like species in a 5cm dia. cavity under a small stone, queens entering and exiting from small hole.
