  • Note by J. Longino: 6 alate queens, long worker series. Identified as rugiceps by Forel. 3 of the queens heavily damaged by dermestids. One label has 130, no doubt an error; all others are 310. Queens differ from Ypiranga syntypes of rugiceps in that not only scapes, but tibiae, vertex, mesosoma, petiole, and postpetiole are densely covered with short whitish setae. These short setae are sparser on AT4, but more abundant than on Ypiranga queens. Some workers in series are exactly like syntypes of pullipes. There is within-series variation in the length and stoutness of setae on the mesonotum, and the extent of a shiny region on the vertex.. Note by J. Longino: Label: La Plata (Bruch). 310.
