  • Note by J. Longino, 9-Jul-1990: Label: 179, Tucum‚Ä°n (Shipton, leg.). Typus. 24 workers, 1 queen on 9 pins. Matched Bruch syntypes of tucumanensis. Some workers in this series have a pair of spatulate setae on mesonotum. Also, I see faint traces of microreticulation that are more developed as granular sculpture in collection JTL0549. Queen heads seem a bit more elongate in the Bruch series, relative to this #179 queen and collection JTL2189. tucumanensis queens have reduced setae on mesosoma and gaster relative to JTL2189.
