Diagnosis of worker: TL 3.3 - 4.1 mm. Clypeus ventrally with median tooth. Masticatory margin of mandible with diastema. Dorsum of head and alitrunk smooth and sparsely foveolate; foveae on head large. Pronotal spines tooth-like about as long as propodeal spine. First gastral tergite without setae.
General distribution: Previously known from New Guinea and some nearby islands (Ceram, Ambon, etc.); Wang (2003: fig. 162) postulated an allopatric distribution of P. quadridensHNS and the closely related species P. brevispinosusHNS, which is also recorded from the Philippines. As shown in this study, the two species have an overlapping distribution in the region "Greater Mindanao".
Found most commonly in these habitats: 6 times found in Rainforest, 1 times found in Davis-sifting close to dump; I guess technically it's 2� growth forest, but the trees are pretty big; Canopy ~10m+, pretty full cover, 4 times found in Lowland rainforest, 1 times found in a lot of T. albipes, but no A. gracilipes, 1 times found in clear area on ridge, some sedges starting to grow in N07�35.978' E134�34.036'; Did not see Anoplolepis on ridge; Collected 1st 2 Eurhopalothrix up here, 1 times found in Dry evgr. forest, 1 times found in - leaf litter ~7cm deep, 1 times found in swamp taro patch, Pats farm, 1 times found in Waterfall trail, Incidental -yellow crazy ants from under log right at border of forest and savannah, 1 times found in at camp, ...
Found most commonly in these microhabitats: 3 times 1 square meter of sifted leaf litter, 3 times on log, 2 times leaf litter (1 sq meter), 1 times clear area on ridge, some sedges starting to grow in N07�35.978' E134�34.036'; Did not see Anoplolepis on ridge; Collected 1st 2 Eurhopalothrix up here, 1 times a lot of T. albipes, but no A. gracilipes, 1 times in large log, 1 times ground strays, 1 times ex rotting log, 1 times ex rotten log, 1 times big camponotus foraging on ground, pristomyrmex at, 1 times under bark of mossy log, ...
Collected most commonly using these methods: 5 times Davis sifting>hand collected|aspirator, 3 times hand collected, 2 times Winkler, 1 times Davis sifting>hand collected|aspirator>bait trap|peanut butter, 1 times hand collected|aspirator.
Elevations: collected from 50 - 2600 meters, 497 meters average
