Taxonomic History (provided by Barry Bolton, 2023)

Fonsecahymen stigmata Martins-Neto & Mendes, 2002 PDF: 29, pl. 1C, fig. 1E (wing) BRAZIL (Minas Gerais, Oligocene). AntCat AntWiki HOL

Taxonomic history

[Note: fig. 1E shows a formicine venation, together with (lower left) the partial venation of a non-hymenopterous wing which is not mentioned in the text. Pl.1C shows the head, partial mesosoma and at least right fore wing of an uncertain formicine. As the fossil is Neotropical the authors’ association of it with Oecophylla is probably incorrect].
