Ectatomma brunnea Smith, 1858a PDF: 103 (w.q.) BRAZIL (Pará). Neotropic. Primary type information: Type-material: syntype worker(s), 1 syntype queen. Type-locality: Brazil: Santarem (no collector’s name, perhaps Bates). Type-depository: BMNH. Type notes: Certainly 1 syntype worker in BMNH together with a second worker and a queen, also from the type locality, but the worker has passed through the Farren White collection and has lost its original labels. Replacement name for Ectatomma quadridens (Fabricius, 1793). [Junior primary homonym of Cephalotes atratus quadridens (De Geer, 1773).]
