Myrmica carinata Smith, 1859a PDF: 148 (w.) INDONESIA (Aru Is). Indomalaya. Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Bolton, 1977 PDF: 86). Primary type locality: lectotype Indonesia: Aru Is (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype worker. Secondary type locality: paralectotype originally from same card mount. Secondary type depositories: BMNH. Type notes: The card on which the OXUM (lectotype) specimen is mounted has been cut in half at some time in the past and originally included a second worker, the apices of the legs of which are still visible on the card, to the left of the lectotype specimen; the BMNH paralectotype is this maimed worker.
