Formica latipes Walsh, 1863 PDF: 311 (w.q.m.) U.S.A. (Michigan). Nearctic. Primary type information: Primary type material: neotype worker (by designation of Wing, 1968a PDF: 98). Primary type locality: neotype U.S.A.: Michigan, Livingston County, Edwin S. George Reserve, 25.viii.1958, no. 238Ac-N (M. Talbot). Primary type depository: MCZC. Type notes: 1) Original type data: 5 worker, 2 queen, 14 male syntypes, U.S.A. (no further data), no material known to exist (Creighton, 1950a PDF: 431). 2) Wing, 1968a PDF: 98, says MCZC also has 4 workers, 1 queen, 2 males from the same series as the neotype.
