Type-locality: Taiwan (“Formosa”): Akau, Kosempo, i.1908 (H. Sauter). Type-depository: MHNG. Type notes: Other original syntypes probably also in DEIB and MHNG. Paralectotype queen nominated by Hosoishi & Ogata, 2015a PDF: 15, is invalid as it originates in the series described later by Forel, 1913g PDF: 193, from Taihorin, not from the type-series or type-locality.
