Taxonomic history

[Chalepoxenus kutteri Kutter, 1973e PDF: 277 (diagnosis and in key), figs 1d, 4d, 7a,b (attributed to Cagniant); unavailable name (published without designation of type material).]
[Note: Kutter, 1973d PDF: 277 (date of publication 28.xii.1973) antedates, by a mere three days, the description of Cagniant, 1973b PDF: 148 (date of publication (31).xii.1973). However, in the figure captions and elsewhere, Kutter refers the name kutteri to “Cagniant, in litt.”, and does not nominate type-material. Hence Kutter’s reference is an unavailable name, and the species is properly attributed to Cagniant.]
