Protalaridris armata Brown, 1980b: 37, figs. 1-8 (w.q.) ECUADOR. Neotropic. Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Ecuador: Pichincha Prov., 20-30 km. ENE Alluriquin on road to Chiriboga, 1400-1800 m., vi.1975, B-301, in mossy forest (S. & J. Peck). Primary type depository: MCZC. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 22 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen. Secondary type localities: paratypes with same data as holotype, paratypes Pichincha Prov., Tinalandia, 16 km. SE Santo Domingo de los Colorados, 680 m., B-300 (S. & J. Peck), 4 km. SE Santo Domingo de los Colorados, 500 m., B-342 (S. & J. Peck), 3 km. E Tandapi, 1300 m., B-303, litter in wet ravine (S. & J. Peck), Colombia: Depto. Chocó, Finca los Guaduales, 10 km.
