Mexico to Panama.

Biology:

Occurs in wet to dry forested habitats, second growth to mature. It is often a common element in forest floor leaf litter and rotten wood.

Comments:

DNA barcoding data show a single cluster with several subclusters. There is variation in color and robustness. Smaller, orange to medium brown specimens occur in the lowlands, grading to more robust, darker forms in cloud forests. These color forms are not concordant with DNA barcode clusters.
