Among the small, monomorphic Solenopsis morphospecies in the LABECOL ant collection, this morphospecies is a distinct one and can be separated from the others  by the following characteristics:

  • absence of clypeal longitudinal carinae (clypeus has only two longitudinal "waves" instead);
  • The facets of the eyes are very shallow, almost indistinct from the lateral head surface;
  • Head is almost as wide as long (CI 92);

It is very close to S. succinea but propodeum dorsal and posterior faces seem less angled in this morphospecies than in the lectotype (Note by J.Chaul, ix-2017).
