Among the small, monomorphic Solenopsis morphospecies in the LABECOL ant collection, this morphospecies is a distinct one and can be separated from the others by the following characteristics:
It is very close to S. succinea but propodeum dorsal and posterior faces seem less angled in this morphospecies than in the lectotype (Note by J.Chaul, ix-2017).
