Longino notes, 11 Nov 2013:

This appears to be an arboreal version of Pheidole indagatrix. The most distinctive separatory character is the yellow head of the major. All P. indagatrix majors have dark brown heads. I cannot reliably distinguish minor workers of indagatrix, JTL153, and sebofila.

Pheidole rubiceps is an indagatrix-like species from Venezuela that has a contrasting read head. But the minor worker of this species has a flared occipital carina.

Found most commonly in these microhabitats: 1 times ex Goethalsia meiantha, 1 times Collecting in 4-day old treefall, same one as 18 July collections. CCL 300. Thes.

Collected most commonly using these methods: 4 times Fogging.
