Two sympatric species occur in the Semliki forest area of western Uganda, both of which key to P. weissi. In one, the worker is smaller, has a weakly impressed metanotal groove, and occurs in Winkler samples. Workers of the other are larger, with strongly impressed metanotal groove, and were found in soil beneath stones. Reevaluation will be necessary for the forms currently synonymized under this species.
