Mexico, Costa Rica, Guyana, Brazil (RJ).
Kempf described this species from three queens: one a U.S. quarantine interception from Mexico, Puebla State, Huachinango, on bamboo poles; one a quarantine interception from Mexico (more detailed locality unknown), on orchids; and one from Brazil, State of Rio de Janeiro, Porto das Caixas. I collected workers of the species in Guyana, Rupununi, Karanambo. They were in a mixed-species collection of general foragers. Phil Ward collected workers in Costa Rica, Prov. Puntarenas, Carara Biological Reserve. It is clearly a rare species, or at least rarely collected, and nothing is known of its biology.
