Replacement name for Leptogenys nitida Smith, 1858a PDF: 92 [Junior primary homonym of Leptogenys nitida Heer, 1849: 149.]; designated by Bolton, 1995b: 231.

Found most commonly in these habitats: 6 times found in grassland, 1 times found in Acacia Thicket (in Sekhukhune Plains Bushveld), 2 times found in Combretum erythrophyllum Riverine Woodland (in Sekhukhune Mountain Bushveld), 1 times found in montane rainforest, 1 times found in Eastern Coastal Belt Forest, 1 times found in Afromontane forest, 1 times found in Bushclumps in Sekhukhune Montane Grassland, indigenous evergreen times found in forest.

Found most commonly in these microhabitats: 1 times ex rotten log, 2 times under stone, 1 times foraging, 1 times leaf litter.
