Taxonomic history

Junior synonym of Lasius pumilus: Wilson, 1955a PDF: 57.
Revived from synonymy: Dlussky, 2011 PDF: 217.

Distribution Notes:

Baltic amber; middle to Late Eocene (34-42 Ma).

Comments:

From Dlussky, 2011: Neotype PIN 964/475 in Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia; other material NHML In.29050 in British Natural History Museum London, U.K.; GZG.BST.04501 in Geowissenschaftlicher Zentrum Georg-August Universitat Gottingen, Germany.
But one alate gyne (possibly one of Mayr's syntype) in Naturhistorisches Museum of Vienna, Austria (NHMW), without collection number, here assigned specimen FANTWEB00008 (obs. V. Perrichot, 2016).

Dlussky, 2011: 22, figs. 2.4, 2.5 (q.); revived from synonymy with *pumilus.
