Replacement name for Camponotus carinatus (Brullé, 1840). [Junior primary homonym of Formica carinata Fabricius, 1804].
Combination in Camponotus: Roger, 1863b PDF: 2.
Subspecies of Camponotus compressus: Santschi, 1939d PDF: 82 (as Camponotus carinatus (Brullé, 1840)).
Revived status as species: Cagniant, 1996b: 99 (as Camponotus carinatus (Brullé, 1840)).
