  • NOTEBY J.Longino: Mangroves, mainly Avicennia. Most Avicennia trees had Crematogaster colonies (or one big colony) occupying every bit of dead wood and every bark flap. They were clearly the dominant ants in the mangroves, in contrast to the surrounding vegetation.
