Senior synonym of mayri: Mayr, 1855: 472; of flachii: Finzi, 1930d: 313; both synonyms confirmed: Agosti & Collingwood, 1987a: 54; of caspica: Atanassov & Dlussky, 1992: 182. See also: Emery, 1912e: 667; Kutter, 1977c: 89; Radchenko, 2007: 33. Current subspecies: nominal plus aeolia, marocana, molongori, osmanica.
