Neotropical Region: Americas, Argentina, Atlántida, Bolivia, Brazil, Canindeyú, Caribbean, Cartago, Ceará, Central America, Colombia, Colón, Costa Caribe Sur, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Granada, Guanacaste, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, La Libertad, La Paz, La Unión, Magdalena, Managua, Mexico, Nicaragua, Olancho, Panama, Paraguay, Paraná, Peru, Puntarenas, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Salvador, Santa Bárbara, South America, Suriname, Usulután, Venezuela

Distribution Notes:

Widespread in Neotropics, including Jamaica and parts of Lesser Antilles. Costa Rica: Pacific lowlands and central valley.

Biology:

Natural History:

This species occurs in open, recently disturbed habitats. Nests are beneath dead wood on the ground. Workers forage on the ground and in low vegetation.

Notes:

The type locality of Forel's plebecula is Alajuela. He described it as being very similar to radoszkowskii var. acuta, which Wilson (2003) synonymized with radoszkowskii. Wilson was not able to locate the type of plebecula.
