This species is known from baits and one nest collection. The nest was in soil, in a roadbank in a montane coffee plantation.


cf. gulo. Minor worker is identical to biolleyi. Major worker is identical to gulo. This appears to be an allopatric variant of gulo, where the only difference is that the minor worker has a smooth, shiny face. It is known from a single site, Volcán Atitlán in Guatemala, and the distribution of gulo surrounds this region of Guatemala.
