Mexico to Colombia (type locality Costa Rica) (Fernandez 2003). Costa Rica: montane forests throughout country, becoming less common at lower elevations. Very common in Monteverde cloudforest; rare at La Selva. Material I have seen from Mexico is from cloud forest above 1800m.
Inhabits wet forest floor litter. Known from Winkler and Berlese samples.

Found most commonly in these microhabitats: 41 times ex sifted leaf litter, 16 times Hojarasca, 9 times ex sifted litter from forest floor, 2 times litter, 2 times sifted leaf litter, 1 times Hojarasca, pasture edge, 1 times wet cloud forest litter, 1 times sifted litter (leaf mold, rotten wood), 1 times litter sample, 1 times cloud wet moutain forest litter.

Elevations: collected from 730 - 2250 meters, 1754 meters average
