BOLD COI records suggest a remarkably widespread species, with uniform COI for specimens from Honduras, French Guiana, Ecuador, and Argentina. It is often collected in lawns and similar human-altered habitats, raising the possibility that it is a synanthropic species that has seen a range expansion associated with humans.
