Taxonomic history

Distribution Notes:

To date found only near Osoyoos/Oliver (south Okanagan) close to the US border.

Comments:

P. salinus is probably conspecific with P. subdentatus, but P. owyheei Cole (1938) may be a good species (Ward, unpubl.)

Found most commonly in these habitats: 13 times found in sagebrush, 5 times found in pinyon-cedar woodland, 2 times found in Sarcobatus scrub, 2 times found in open sagebrush/bitterbrush, 4 times found in greasewood, 3 times found in Sagebrush and grass, 2 times found in shrub steppe, 3 times found in Sagebrush desert, 2 times found in Shrub steppe, scattered junipers, 1 times found in pinyon pine woodland, ...

Found most commonly in these microhabitats: 1 times strays, 2 times pebble mound nest, 2 times nest in ground, 1 times in mound, 2 times ground nest, with gravel but no mound, 1 times crater nest in sandy soil, 2 times crater nest, 1 times foragers, 1 times stray foragers, 1 times pebble mound, 1 times ground nest with low gravel mound, ...

Collected most commonly using these methods: 12 times search, 3 times hand collecting, 30 am 3 Jul 2016 and picked up 8 times transect of 10 ethylene glycol pitfall traps (five 28 mm internal diameter, five 15 mm internal diameter), set out 7.

Elevations: collected from 115 - 2770 meters, 1170 meters average
