Bolton (1987) did not study the type of this species, nor the possibly corresponding native MonomoriumHNS material. The MonomoriumHNS native to South America are moderate to large in size; M. inusualeHNS and M. delabieiHNS are small but with HW greater than 0.60 mm. There is a possibility that M. brasilienseHNS might in fact be a tramp species, erroneously described by Forel as a different (subspecific) taxon.
Found most commonly in these habitats: 2 times found in Semideciduous seasonal forest.
Collected most commonly using these methods: 1 times Arboreal pitfall, 1 times Epigaeic pitfall.
Elevations: collected at 759 m
