(According to curated Bioregion/Taxon lists): Malagasy
has to be regarded as high-elevation endemic, known only from two localities at 1580m and 1860m in the rugged and isolated Manongarivo massif
that were visited during a biological inventory in 1998 by Brian Fisher.
The rare collections of foraging workers were made while sifting litter and beating vegetation in montane rainforest habitats at 1580 and 1860 m. No nest collections have been recorded for this species; reproductives and natural history are unknown.
